Ninagawa Chikamoto (蜷川親元)

Chikamoto NINAGAWA (1433 - July 13, 1488) was an agent in the administrative office of the Yoshimasa ASHIKAGA and Yoshihisa ASHIKAGA shogunate. Son of Chikamasa NINAGAWA. His Buddhist name was Doju and his go (pen name) was Fuhaku.
The head of the Ninagawa household in each generation was called 'Shinemon no jo.'

In 1473, he assumed a post of deputy steward of the office of administration. One of the diaries written by Chikamoto is 'Chikamoto Nikki' (the diary of Chikamoto).

Uemon no jo
Uemon no jo' was the third in command at headquarters, with the ranks being 'kami', 'suke', 'jo' and 'sakan.'

Emon no suke' was used by the head of the Hatakeyama household in the Muromachi Shogunate.

The character Shinemon NINAGAWA, samurai under Yoshimitsu ASHIKAGA in the cartoon Ikkyusan, is believed to be modeled on Chikamoto's father Chikamasa NINAGAWA.
